Lola: 5/7/11: 10AM: Perry, UT: f4.5: 1/250: Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xsi

Flower: 5/7/11: 5PM: Ogden, UT: f4.5: 1/250: Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xsi

Spider: 5/7/11: Perry, UT: f4.5: 1/500: Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xsi

Tulips: 5/7/11: 10AM: Perry, UT: f4.5: 1/400: Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xsi
I didn't do any editing in any of these photos. For all the pictures except lola I got close to the flower or ant that i wanted to focus on then I loomed in just a little bit to add some extra blur to the background. I tried to get different angles of the flowers to get a different feel for each picture. The spider picture I was first taking a picture of only the spider but as I was trying to figure out the best angle a ant walked into the view of the camera. Then I worked with angles for both of them. With lola I just waited until they were able to get the bunny facing the camera. I like how it turned out because it got their personalities really coming out in it.

  1. Heather! I really like your flora & fauna shots. The tulip shot was my favorite because the colors are so vibrant! So smart to make the background black and white. It looks terrific.

Your edits were good, too. The first one was better than the second. I had to look at the picture for a while to catch the difference that you applied through the adjustment layers. I could see that the clouds were a little bit more defined but all the edits were a little too subtle. Overall you did a really great job and I think your photos are very impressive :)
